Schamber-Jones, CPA, PA is the name of a firm that dates back to the 1970’s. This CPA office has been serving the accounting needs of the Hattiesburg area for over 30 years.

Sharon B. Schamber-Jones, CPA is the president. Sharon has a bachelor of science degree in business administration (majoring in accounting) and a masters of professional accountancy degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. Prior to practicing public accounting, Sharon taught accounting and business law for three years at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Today, in addition to practicing public accounting, she teaches accounting and business law at William Carey University.

She has served on the board of governors for the Miss. Society of CPAs (MSCPA) and as the president for the Southeast Chapter of the MSCPA. She has also served on various committees for the MSCPA, including the long-range planning committee and a committee concerned with education and scholarships.

For two years, Sharon chaired the USM Estate Planning Council. She is a member of the Area Development Partnership, the Petal Chamber of Commerce, and the USM Alumni Association.

In connection with Lions Club activities, Sharon is the president of the Petal Lions Club, past district governor of the Lions of Mississippi, Inc., past president of the Lions Sight Foundation of Miss., Inc. and a former trustee of the Mississippi Lions Eye Bank, Inc.
 

Arthur F. Kersh, CPA (retired) has been a CPA for 38 years and was one of the partners in Kersh & Schamber, CPAs which started in 1987 as a continuation of his practice. He now works with Schamber-Jones, CPA, PA as a consultant and staff assistant. He has served as president of the Southeast Chapter of the MSCPA and on their board of governors. On the national level, he has served on the Tax Forms and Tax Practice Guides Committees of the AICPA Tax Division. His civic associations include the Hattiesburg Lions Club, Area Development Partnership, the Marine Corps League, American Legion, and the USM Alumni Association.

He received his bachelors and masters degree from USM. Prior to coming back to Hattiesburg, he worked for Boeing during the nation’s race to the moon.
 

Greg Crapo is a resident of Biloxi, Mississippi and works for the firm part-time as a staff accountant. Additionally, he helps with our office computers. Greg has Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from University of South Alabama (1981) and from USM (1998). He also has a Masters of Business Administration degree from University of Southern Mississippi. Greg grew up in a family business and is very active in the community activities on the Coast.

 

 

Alicia Jarrell is a staff accountant and a resident of Ellisville, Mississippi. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting Concentration) from William Carey University. Alicia is a member of The Society of Advancement for Managers, A national member of Alpha Beta Gamma, The Petal Lions Club, MAPA (Mississippi Association of Public Accountants), and is very active in her church.

 

Marsha Lee is a lifetime resident of Petal, Mississippi and works at the firm as an administrative assistant. She has been a licensed agent in local agencies serving the Pine Belt area for nearly 30 years and worked as Office Manager/Bookkeeper for nine of those years. She is married and the mother of two wonderful children and has one precious grandchild.

Marsha is a member of The Petal Chamber of Commerce, the ADP (Area Department Project) in Hattiesburg, and very active in her church and other fraternal organizations in Petal.

 

Casey Miceli is from Ocean Springs, MS. She is currently a student at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. She is a Senior of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting undergraduate. She works at Schamber-Jones CPA as a staff assistant. She is a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority, Beta Alpha Psi, and a brother in Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity. She is also a member of the Mississippi Association of Public Accountants. She attends church at St. Thomas in Hattiesburg.
