Schamber & Company, Certified Public Accountants is an accounting firm which dates back to 1972 when Arthur F. Kersh returned to Hattiesburg from New Orleans to begin practicing accounting. Sharon B. Schamber is the current owner. Art Kersh remains with the firm, offering invaluable experience and insights.

Our office is in a building that is one of Hattiesburg’s historic homes, located on the major thoroughfare of Hardy Street, just a block from Gordon’s Creek. As such, our clients enjoy a relaxed atmosphere as we deal with the very personal issue of finances.

Don’t let the 1920’s architecture fool you into thinking our accounting systems are antiquated. We began using personal computers here in the early 1980’s and most of our client recordkeeping is maintained on the computer. We have been e-filing tax returns we prepare for seven years and preparing computerized tax returns for at least twenty years.

Our small clients find that our computerized payroll check writing serves their needs as they discover their time is better spent on making money than on keeping payroll records.
